Where can the frameless system be installed?
Our systems can be installed internally or externally in a number of different scenarios on both residential and commercial projects. The most common situation our system is used for is on external balustrades.
We’ve designed it so that it meets the BSI required loadings for different settings. More detailed information on different fitting methods can be found on our technical page.
How easy is Posi Glaze to fit?
We’ve designed our frameless system in a way that enables it to be fitted easily by installers saving both time and money compared to competitor products. The system even has an innovative adjustment mechanism that allows the glass to be altered once in situ without the need for specialist tools.

What can our systems be fixed too?
Our system is only as strong as the structure it’s attached to therefore a suitable substructure must be in place. We have recommendations of different fixing scenarios which can be found on our technical page. If you have a query please drop us a line and we’d be happy to help or alternatively ask your local structural engineer
Do I need to have handrail on top of the glass?
In recent years the UK has seen an increase in the use of glass balustrades without the installation of handrails. The new BS 6180:2011 clarifies this issue, we have detailed this below, if you need any clarification please get in touch or talk to your local building control.
If using toughened glass a handrail must also be used, in addition it must be adequately
secured to act as a secondary barrier should the glass fail i.e. the handrail should remain in-situ if a panel breaks.
If toughened laminate glass is used then it is permissible to have no handrail as long as the following aspects are put into place;
Does the aluminium have to be seen?
One of the other great attributes to our system is that it can be installed in a number of different scenarios; it can be sunken into the floor so only the glass is on show or it can be fixed so the anodised aluminium is seen by all.
Do you offer a fitting service?
We currently offer a supply only service although we work with a number of installers across the UK to provide a fitting service. If you’d like to contact us we can point you in the right direction of a local installer.

Can the frameless systems be fitted on the side or on the base of the channel?
Simply yes! Our system has been created with the knowledge that some fitting situations would require it to be side fitted.
How is the aluminium protected?
Aluminium is used in many different uses across the world from cars to planes. We use aluminium for many reasons mainly as it offers lightweight strength. Although in itself it’s a great metal we give it extra protection against the elements by anodising it to 25 microns. As well as added protection anodising is a great way to alter the appearance of the façade to a wide range of effects and colours which are available on request. Do your systems allow for drainage?
If there is a requirement for drainage we can supply drainage packers that fit in-between the channel and the sub structure.
Do I have to clean the aluminium?
We recommend you do clean the aluminium, more information can be found here.
Do you offer other finishes to the aluminium channel?
We do, as standard we offer stainless steel effect anodised finishes although on request we can anodise the channel in a range of different styles and even powdercoating. Please contact us to find out more.

You state that with your Posi Glaze system the glass can be adjusted once in place, how is this possible?
When developing our system we knew a key problem with existing competitor products was the lack of ability to adjust the glass once in place. Therefore a key design feature with Posi Glaze is our patent pending adjustment mechanism. With the use of a trapezoidal bolt the glass can adjusted until its plumb.
